Reef Encounters

Don Greenfield's expertise at making acrylic and resin look like water just keeps getting better and the watery projects just keep getting bigger.  Reef Encounters was developed at the request of Emily, a scuba-diving friend, hence the name of the boat, Emmie's Dream.   Don designed and built the boat of acrylic, (see the picture below), and it has exquisite detail including a GPS and a  fishfinder.  Sara Shenefelt created all six figures and the large critters, (shark, octopus, two barracudas, sea turtle, moray eel and a ray), from polymer clay.  Landscaping, (seascaping?), the reef which Don created from foam board and plaster was a joint effort.  We lost count of the fish, which are printed on photo paper and shaped.

No Girls Allowed

The boys, Ken, Jeremy and Charlie, told their mothers they were going fishing.  The girls, Sarah and Mattie, told their mothers they were going bike-riding.  The kids, ages 10 to 14, are cousins and part of a big, extended family.

Sarah and Mattie were exploring an old country road when they discovered the boys at the tree house the boys had built.  But Kenny, Jeremy and Charlie aren't fishing!

The tree is so big it is growing through the top of the protective cover.  In addition to the kids in No Girls Allowed there are all manner of critters,.... mammals, birds, fish, frogs, and bugs,.... 42 in all.  How many can you find?

No Girls Allowed  was on display at the First State Mini Club's Annual Show & Sale in Wilmington, DE, on April 3, 2005, and won a first place blue ribbon. It was also displayed at  N.A.M.E.'s Annual House Party in Pittsburgh, PA, July 21 to 24, 2005.  At the 2005 International Philadelphia Miniaturia Show in November No Girls Allowed won the First Prize, Peoples'' Choice Award.

A Room for All Seasons

Did you ever see a miniaturized swimming pool?  Neither did we.  The pool just grew and grew until it became A Room for All Seasons.

Sixty-something George was a lonely widower with a lot of money when he met 20-something Doreen at a church dinner. He treated Doreen like the father she never had and, of course, when he asked her to marry him she said, "Yes!"

Eric is George's 30-something son and Amy is Eric's 30-something fiancée.  Amy doesn't look as good as Doreen in a bikini so she decided not to go swimming today.  Also, she is not too happy about acquiring a mother-in-law who is ten years younger than she is.

A Room for All Seasons was featured with a two-page spread in the October, 2004, issue of Miniature Gazette  and won a 1st Prize, Children's Choice, at the November, 2004, International Philadelphia Miniaturia Show.

This soap opera family in its unique setting can be yours.  Contact Greenfield Creations with any questions or to make arrangements to see it at our facility.  If you are interested in purchasing it we can deliver and set it up for you.
